After seeing the Boston Celtics post a video on Instagram of Jaylen Brown struggling to perform very basic pound dribbles, it got me wondering?

Is Jaylen Brown's Left Hand Really That Bad?

Like sure, he struggles with his weak hand, so do most people. Why is it that fans and media make it seem like he has a "middle school handle." - Shannon Sharpe. (Yes he said that.)

So I decided to breakdown Game 7 of the 2022/23 Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat to figure out what caused all this uproar in the media about Jaylen Brown's left hand.

Was it a case of him just needing more skill work, or is there something deeper than that?

In this video we dive deep into Sports Psychology and the Mental Game of Sports.

We take a look at how one of the best sporting cultures in the world breakdown the mental game and it could be impacting you in a negative way.

We also breakdown the statistics of the Top 50 scorers in the NBA, including Jayson Tatum, Luka Doncic, LeBron James, LaMelo Ball, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and many more to determine if Jaylen Brown statistically has a bad left hand, when compared to his peers.

The book I reference in the video is "Legacy" by James Kerr. Amazing book, highly recommend reading it.

I get all my music from Epidemic Sound.

I get all game footage from Synergy Sports. I am working on a video on how to improve IQ without software like this so stay tuned.

2 Things
#1 - I am aware the %'s on drives don't add up to 100. This is because Synergy has "straight drives" which account for 5 to 10%.
#3 - I lied 3 things - Thank you for taking time to check out my videos. I appreciate you!

Real interesting analysis. Discussing the red and blue mindset theory was an especially interesting bit; gave this video a different feel from other basketball channels.

He has more a decision making problem than a left hand dribbling problem

he has a slightly below average left hand and an above average tendency to force the issue at the worst times

You all keep talking about this man left hand. With no left hand he was second team All NBA.. You do not have a great left hand true.. But it's morning good enough to be paid. The highest man in basketball.. People always just trying to find something to s*** on somebody about.. And vet s*** is getting sad.

I'm a righty, always go right and funish right.
I'm now in my late 20s and can dribble and finish with my left!

I gave like for psychological insights but disagree about final conclusion. Meaning, you are likely to get to red state if you're not feeling comfortable, because a lot of defensive mechanisms will turn on (like overthinking) and then we get into chicken and egg problem. Is he in the red state, because he is not comfortable driving left, or is he making bad decisions driving left because he is in the red state. I'd still argue that "no left" which is of course hyperbole, is a skill lacking issue more than psycho staff. If anything, you are more likely to go out of the red state if you are almost equally good with the left than with the psycho help.
Psycho things can sometimes be looking for easy way out.

Reminds me of when Harden had 13 turnovers. Also a decision making issue

They just pinch him to the left where help defense is or he tries to split the defense and turns it over.. I'll live with JB

The conclusion contradicts the video of Jaylen in a practice moment. There was no pressure. What's the excuse?!

Jalen's biggest problem (like Tatum) is his low IQ. He doesn't know how to maximize his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. He (like Tatum) dribbles too much, even though Tatum has much better handles.
