The Outfield ~ Your Love 1985 Extended Meow Mix

Based in London, England, power pop band The Outfield never experienced the popularity in their home country as they did in the US. Part of the New Wave movement in the late 70's, they finally were given a chance to record an album through Columbia records in 1985. Members John Spinks, Tony Lewis and Alan Jackman worked hard at creating a sound that US audiences would snap up and "Your Love" was their ticket to fame. The single peaked at a very respectable #6 in the US and became their biggest hit but were never able to find that magic again and they faded away until 1991 when Jackman left before the recording of their "Diamond Days" LP that year. Taking a long hiatus, the duo of Lewis and Spinks returned to touring in 1998, releasing a new album in 2004. By 2014, Jackman had agreed to return to the band and their final LP "Replay" was released. The Outfield disbanded after the death of John Spinks who suffered from liver cancer and passed away in July, 2014. Tony Lewis, who was the voice of Outfield, kept silent until 2018 when he released his solo effort, "Out Of The Darkness".
