This pedal is big time with the modular synth crowd that has grown huge since modern tech allows for cheap and dependable control over the analog oscillators. In the 80's I worked as a product specialist for Ibanez. In private they talked seriously of getting out because guys coming up wre buying synths. I am dead serious. Plans were being made to bail. I took this as a sign to get involved so I taught myself how to program analog synths and then taught keyboard players as a 'something to fall back on.
Ok I digress. I had this pedal on my short list a few years back. thanx for showing it off!

The way that you push it in that final section is absolutely lovely

That really is a beautifully designed box. The simple layout, the sans serif font, the colors... Plus, I'm a sucker for anything that features japanese characters of any sort. And those knobs! So vintage sci-fi. Looks like something designed to track Godzilla.

I already have the KOMOREBI so I tuned in to hear your take on this mysterious machine. You found the bango sound I love, ....that was interesting you used it with the LFO in a way that surprised me (not to mention the emotional impact of the sublime in Gabors playing) ...I agree with Alexs' remark on being Polyrythmic but I think you both forgot to mention that with the Eurorack inputs there is the option of absolute syncability as well. Thanks so much for this ...aaaand question: DO you think the KOMOREBI can be used as a general mixing filter in the way of Jamaican Dub? ( I noiticed you like to use feedback loops - so I am guessing your into DUB stuff- am I right? ) And if yes, ....How exactly -what settings would you use?

It sounds as if Princess Mononoke’s ghost was trapped inside a tin can. In a good way, though!

Very interesting pedal - like the tones of both the Komorebi & Lethargy! Actually thought they were Japanese made with their looks (which look fantastically retro!) was surprised that they are actually made in Greece. Their pedals seem to bring something new to the table which I very much like & may have to pickup one of their models. Thanks for the videos on all of their pedal range, they were very insightful!

After hearing this thing, I just want to play "A Forest" by the Cure and "Streets of Detroit" by SQÜRL.

A tip: the amount knob is the lfo modulation amount. This is why nothing happens when you play with the rate knob when amount is fully at static ;) end of didactic comment. I like your videos and have just subscribed. I think I like this pedal more than the Pyramids, because Pyramids has a very cluttered interface that probably won’t lend itself easily to live knob turning, while this pedal is simple. And it’s analog. I can possibly do most of what Pyramids does with plugins. Of course for a guitar player, which I am not, having something like the Pyramids on stage would be pretty useful, but if the pedalboard itself is to be an instrument, then I’d go for the Komorebi.

Thanks for the video! I love your channel guys, very informative and fun indeed. I wanted to ask if possible to compare this Komorebi which I think sounds phenomenal, to the Thorpy Camoflange pedal. That would be an awesome shootout! Cheers - A Melbournian in lockdown ^^

I’ve had one of these babies for about a year. I don’t know what year it came out, but how it didn’t find its way onto pedal of the year lists across YouTube is a mystery to me. It is a classic.

Good to hear you're planning on implementing more modular into your reviews! Implementing modular gear with guitar is underutilized in my opinion.

The coolest thing is can create real tape flange. Check out the Small Faces Itchycoo Park from 1967.

Got to say I love a good flanger and think they can make such a difference to the tone of your playing however this thing pushes it out to ga ga land. I’m sure with everything dialled down low you could get something subtle and melodic but at the same time what’s the point of that when this pedal has so much modulation power. Great vid awesome pedal but personally don’t think I will be buying one any time soon.

My favorite flanger.. I've sold and rebought it several times.. lol. I can't get it to play very well with fuzz though the way I can with others. Regardless, its the only one I could ever truly groove with.
