Ryan Boyd, Developer Relations, Neo4j:In this introduction to Neo4j and Graph Databases, we discuss the primary use cases for Graph Databases and explore the properties of Neo4j that make those use cases possible.

We'll cover the high-level steps of modeling, importing, and querying your data using Cypher and give you an overview of the transition from RDBMS to Graph.

Thank you for speaking so eloquently~ Too many people come on You Tube clueless about Public Speaking and how the speak matters to people across all borders. The world is Global not in a Box. So even though you may come from one state when you make a "You Tube Video" you're not speaking to a person in one state. You're speaking to the "WORLD".

Liked the video very much. Didn’t realise that I’ve been running join queries on a graph database and the queries become really long and complex. Waiting for my company, it’s a big one, to adopt neo4j as an accepted technology

Making a neo4j crash course for the consulting firm I work for and in 2021 this is still the best video I could find to explain Neo4J to developers who haven't heard of it or have Graph DB experience. Thanks for your effort.

Thanks for the intro. I really have to dig into Neo4j's world. It's easier, more functional and very faster than SQL in most aspects.
Thanks again !

I like graphs too, but can you imagine de output graph for a [:report to] which could contain more than 200 nodes. An output table may be better in that case.

Cypher seems to me a natural evolution of the known SQL statements, I mean, a different and better syntax to do the same; a layer on top of SQL. The graph and its relations seems to me a regular relational database drawn in slightly different way.

Hi Ryan. Enjoyed this video.

Unless I missed it, could you address these questions:

Are there any types of databases which are best created as relational (and SQL accessed) as opposed to a graphical database.

If a company wants to test to see if there are benefits (such as performance) in moving from a relational DB to neo4j, is there a tool which will allow for easy data transfer from the former to the latter?

Thanks.

Hi, we are developing a hybrid app with Ionic (and Angular). Is it possible to use Neo4j for such an app? We want to store the data, but more importantly, we want to make recommendations based on the data.

Is that possible and how?
