Minor7flat5 chords? WTF? Although it may be a long name, these chords are a great way to enhance the sound of different chords in a progression.

Learn two different voicings, an arpeggio and when to use this underappreciated chord while not being a jerk about it.

Dude that was so helpful, I had been trying to figure out what people mean when they say a chord is made from 1 4 5 from a long time . Finally I got it because of you

This is the beautifully dark and elusive chord I was trying to identify in the B section of Uptown Girl.
My theory isn't what it used to be, and I love rediscovering and relearning.
Thank you for the upload!

"How did that just make you feel? Bland? Empty? Maybe a tinge of joy?"

Holy shit, the C-major chord is life itself.

The reason you use minor 7 flat 5 chords is the same reason I surround myself with ugly friends

Thank you for not ending on a m7b5 chord.

You deserve a lot more credit for that ending...

Thank you! I was fiddling around and came across this chord on piano and was wondering how the heck to do this. And agreed, it’s a magical chord.

Accidentally played a real chill chord and after a bit of digging turns out it was an Em7 5. Isn’t music neat

willt.

Thanks! You obviously have a great understanding of theory. A lot of guys would stop short of giving out this kind of free information.

SRV and many others use that first m7flat5 shape quite often as a kind of substitute for a dominant 9 chord, sometimes adding the root note on the low E string themselves, or leaving it up to the bass player to hit it. The song "Tightrope" comes to mind.

Mr. Sean Daniel...You are the best guitar teacher ever. thanks a billion from india for doing this. i've been following your channel for so long now.
The way you teach and the detailing was just out of the world. i'm very thankful. i have learned so many useful lessons from your channel and flushing out crappy comments in your style is one of them.

That was a great lesson and a damn easy one to follow too! A total eye opener. Thanks Sean. I just came here from the video you made about all kinds of diminished chords. Now I have all the information I need! Cheers!
Edit: The ending was hilarious. I almost thought you were being a jerk by ending it with a B minor 7 flat 5 chord but then you played the C. LMAO

Great lesson. I found it's much easier to use my thumb for the low E string when playing the chord rooted on there. Anyone with bigger hands, or if you're having trouble with it, give that a go.
