The horn is actually adjustable, there is a pot on the board. Take the shell off and experiment with it a bit and you should be able to get it sounding better! Make sure you turn a little bit at a time.

The main reason these engines are so chunky is so they could squeeze the second motor in the rear. Had to be enough room for it to swivel side to side and not hit the body shell.

They are fantastic trains, I have had mine since they were released, there is also a later TMCC release

Gotta agree they look “chunky” next to the other engine & rail cars on the inside loop. In fact most everything else looks small.

Yeah, the 8201 is 1988 and the 8204 is 1990
