This is the only explanation on YouTube I could find that a beginner could grasp! Throwing in examples such a the servers in a movie reference, back yard farm.. hashes are like finger prints …makes it 100% relatable to a newbie. This guy gets it! Filecoin will just bring crypto-economics to IPFS in order to have a high level of certainty that your files will be stored on the network. You will still be able to use IPFS without fees.

With all due respect
You say you’re against fees but in a few sentences later you say we need incentives to get people to host nodes. You can’t have one without the other otherwise where does the money for the incentives come from? Advertisements? That would only further degrade the user experience and make content beholden to advertisers like YouTube does today. Honestly I think upload fees are the way to go... it also reduces spam and junk from being uploaded which everyone hates.
