As we haven't been able to travel as far afield due to Covid, we got chatting on Zoom to the Irish lads working for D Thompson Contracting about how they made it over to New Zealand before they closed the borders and what it's like living the dream chasing the season.

I worked for him 18 years back when they were still small outfit.
Was a great boss, was going back 2 years ago but got a new job cane harvesting over here in Bundy Aussie.for season.
Miss the stack building that I did.
Loved a drink with the Irish shears.

I did the 2000 mile harvest in 2006 in America, it was the best thing I did.

New Zealand, seems to be alot like Ireland. Also some very STEEP, hilly ground aswell. You'd want to know what your at abit or have a good head on ya.
I'd recommend any young person to go to NZ & after that maybe America for a season aswell.
Maybe some day I'll get to visit the Country, sometime.
