The comment section is an open forum so free speech is respected whether I agree or disagree. Here are some thoughts to consider:
1.) a Gig Bag or a hardshell case at this quality level are likely a similar cost. Preferences vary. I own one of these Fender Gig Bags and they are VERY well made, heavily padded, have a lot more storage than a hard case. I find the gig bag easier to use as a gigging musician than a hard case. I respect those who prefer a hard case. I am just saying this is a really NICE "Gig Bag" and "for ME", I prefer it. Your desire for a good hard shell case is respected. It would be nice if Fender offered 'either' so you could choose based on your individual needs.
2.) This Video is titled "Unboxing." It morphed into more and developed into what I call a "First Impression" sort of presentation. I thought it was FANTASTIC!! Thank you Aaron for sharing with the world. There is a Lot of insight I would not have known otherwise.
3.) For those who want to hear the actually playing and 'demo' without all the information, fast forward to the sections where he demo's it or look for a "Demo" video. I've made video's before and it's harder than you think. No matter how much ground is covered, anything you post will get picked apart. It is so easy to be an Armchair quarterback, to hate and be dismissive) I suggest framing comments with respect. But its a free world and that is just how I prefer to "roll."
4.) No, it's not the last word in amplified acoustic tone. It is credible, musical, cool new tool for making music however!! The Acoustasonic spans a LOT of sonic options in one instrument. The acoustic sound sounds very natural than what I expected. Do I prefer my Martin dreads with Baggs Anthem PU's? Yes.
5.) If I was riding a subway to gigs and needed one guitar to cover a lot of ground, this appears to be very easy to carry. It does a LOT in one package in a rather classic but new form factor. Some will like it, some won't.
6.) Street prices will likely be attainable at least 15% off at some point (Best Guess). Maybe better.
7.) All that said, I don't think this guitar is something I would spend my dollars on. But that doesn't mean its crap, it sucks or its too expensive. I wish it was more like $1399. For that, I might try one as an 'addition'. If you don't think its worth the cost, don't buy one. Easy enough right?
8.) I LOVE Aaron's candor and sensible comments with regard to real-world usage, gigging etc. KEEP doing what you're doing Aaron. You're providing a great service. Even for those who hate it, they took the time to watch, listen and comment. Whether they liked it or not, they got value being able to decide its not for them! So again, BRAVO!

Aaron, As always, I admire your candor and sensible commentary. Very nicely done. I think this was a GREAT "first Impression" video following the unboxing. Loved it. I am surprised how natural the acoustic sound was when amplified. I am intrigued to try one for myself when the opportunity presents itself.

This is the first new guitar I've seen in a very long time that I just want. And just for context, I've been playing for 50 years, I own many guitars already (Lowden, Gibson, Larivee, Fender, Ibanez, etc.), have my own working recording studio, and play in two bands. This guitar really seems like something special that I could use and enjoy.

It's easy to make fun of a product you see in a video, but I imagine it's much different to hold it, play it and see it in person.

I'm seeing a lot of hate in the comments but it sounds great, looks great, build quality and QC seems great, and it is way less cumbersome than a traditional acoustic guitar, and price competitive with higher end traditional acoustic brands. Seems like an exciting instrument to me.

I wouldn't consider buying an acoustic guitar but I would be interested in buying this. It just has a cool look to it... well, at least it is cool now before the country music industry gets their hands on it.

Thanks for playing it with some "normal chord" playing. Every other review I have seen of this is finger-picked and all kinds of country or some sort of Appalachian sounding stuff. I like the way it sounds: better than my Ovation 1861 Baladeer from what I hear at the moment. Don't know that I'd use the electric sounds of this since I have a real Tele and an Epiphone Les Paul as well as a Variax 500 for anything else I might need. I can't really justify the price tag for what I'd use it for, especially considering how mediocre of a guitar player I am (mostly a drummer), but definitely on the "if I had nothing better to do with that money" list! Thanks for the honest and quick review/unboxing of this item.

Much better review than the last Andertons one. I do think they have the price point wrong for this, not least because I'm never convinced that Fender understand what a good acoustic sounds like anyway, despite recent real improvements. At least the guitar sounds like a guitar in your video.

You think we'll ever see a Mexican made one for under 1000 or even better a squire for the low student budget I got :( Would love one of these but god damn 2k is too much for a hobbyist like me but the versatility is something I've dreamed of forever

The acoustasonic looks like a very well rounded product online but finally having the chance to play it at a Guitar Center, I was disappointed. Maybe it was the set of stock strings or the setup of the guitar but it just didnt play like a 2 grand guitar. The sound was tinny and weak. The electric pickup mode didn’t sound like a pristine tele does, and the acoustic modes didn’t sound like a full dreadnought style guitar. I don’t suggest purchasing.
