The long overdue completion of one of the first full songs I ever wrote. The earliest record I have of this one is a Guitar Pro file from November 2007. Originally called "Phoenix", this track was actually intended to be put on the first album for The Seer, before the songwriting evolved into the symphonic death metal sound that the band plays now. The guitars and bass are unchanged from how they were originally written, with the vocals, drums and lead guitar parts being new additions.

Fecundity, glistening womb-folds spew forth Astralvore
Blastocystic gnawing through the amniotic wall
Cleft in torment, cries the mother’s tongue
Ill portent, Abyss, devourer of dawn

Illuminate no more, failing fractal radiance
Charnel-shroud across a burdened stellar brow
Repudiate, abdicate the throne of infinite
Buried future of the Apheliotic born

Pyre-yearning, as cinder-smoke beneath a blackened sky
Hollow eyes ensconced in drowned and empty sight
Bitter chastity, restraint amidst the cosmic pantheon
Empassioned plea; calamity; the Abyss must feed

Perihelion, share thy warmth with thee
Argo Navis, why must you recoil and retreat?

If fearful thing I am,
As predator amongst the wine-dark sea
So too must I become
The brethren stars; undone!

Empty yearning, searing hate across the timid night
Ravenous eyes, a maw that masticates the pyre
Illuminate no more, the falling cosmic bloom
Slavering Abyss, roiling sempiternal doom

Perihelion, and Nebulon, thy warmth I disdain
Argo Navis, broken and enslaved
Chara, Asterion, whimpering in scorn
Abyssic solitude, destiny no longer mourned

All as none within my nothingness
I shall ravage the endless stars,
Solar countenance tarnished; the taken-torn
Sated, and fated, I am alone

The corpse of Perihelion I cast aside
Argo Navis, welted and decayed
Mongrel constellations flee before my blackened tide
Celestial gateway, bleeding forth
