2006 - 2012 Toyota Rav4 Backup Camera Install

Watch a full tutorial as a 2007 Toyota Rav4 will have a Backup Camera installed to an existing double din touch screen Radio. This camera will be installed in the license plate area to the a Pioneer radio installed in a previous video.

This video applies to Toyota Rav4 models for years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, complete installation for the backup camera, wiring, and testing!

If red wire is NOT reverse light positive make sure you are tapping the CORRECT RED wire from the CORRECT harness.

I had the wrong red wire (in the wrong harness) initially and tapped the pink and a blue along with using a multi meter until I found out I was in the wrong harness entirely.

Thank you so much for this video -- I wouldn't have been able to do this project without it! When fishing the camera wires around the license plate assembly I found it easier to route them on the right side rather than the left as you did here. There seems to be more room for the bulky video and power connectors this way and has the added benefit of being a shorter run to the rear door grommet.

A helpful tip, use something to lubricant the wires that rubber boot when fishing thru it, it will be so much easier, dishsoap and water mix worked good, or maybe even a little WD40

I have followed the same instruction, but still not able to align the guidlines at the center since the camera is fixed at the left

I noticed that the placement of the backup camera makes the backup lines a bit off.

All in all, great tutorial, however, like many other videos, once you get to the actual wiring of the back up camera itself, it all of sudden becomes extremely vague. I'll just wing it & hope it works.

Hi.how do you know which wire to connect to? and if the cam needs ground connected to the steel car body? just got a toguard E60 and learning to install now
