I agree with GSP. Even in HS and Collegiate wrestling. Someone that was on their back were saved or it stopped a near fall or take down points. If changes a match dramatically. One period no stoppages. That makes true winners and champions.

I kind of agree with GSP. In the outlaw, Wild West days of MMA in the 90’s, there were loads of really dull, pulling guard stalemates when it was an unlimited round. But, I think Pride got it right with the 10 minute 1st round format. It allowed the fight to ‘breathe’ and settle a bit, instead of being a frantic scramble for points or a knockout, which I think it can kind of be now.

To be honest, in the UFC it should be like that. Ultimate fighting, no pauses and no rules except blows to the back of the head and groin. May the best man win
