Hi +Goldboy Jr for whatever reason, I cannot reply to you directly so here's my response: Yeah, I've heard similar things but haven't had an opportunity to use the app and test it. Basically this (and some other ebikes with gearless hub motors) can lock the motor electronically so that it's really hard to move (like a very powerful regeneration setting) and they also have a GPS locator thing built in so you can try to recover the bike or maybe be notified if the bike is tampered with (your phone would give you the alert).

Another great review Court! I think electric bikes is the ultimate way for people to stay healthy and for them to get exercise at the same time. Lets face it....you travel maybe 10-20 miles per day to visit people, go to the store, go for work, go for school etc. and for for these short trips the electric bike is the obvious answer. I mean think about what society can save when it comes to medical care cost etc.

the 7000 dollar 'bicycle'. other than price, this is impressive. rock out with your dongle out.  the st1 kinda feels like an ebike, this looks like a computerized moped. the st1 is pretty responsive in my opnion. if this is a significant improvement---then this is some crazy awesome bike. 

any chance we get a great video review of the whole interbike 2014 like you did in 2013?

This is a pretty nice bike.  A little on the expensive side but it does look like quality and with the type of fabrication I would say it is worth it....just my 2 cents worth.  Good review Court.

Quick correction, Court.

I was misinformed about the GPS tracking range and after checking with tech reps, I came to know that GPS tracking works wherever GSm service exists.

Also, you can change torque, speed and other settings OMNI display.

Great review guys! Is front suspension an option? That battery and the management adds to the price I'm sure. Does that add a grand or so? Then you add slope awareness and the ootb smartphone support and you can start to see a bit of the pricing justification.

So I heard you can simply click a button on your phone to lock the bike, is that true?
I heard it will make the brakes lock so the bike wont move.

Whoa bro0mine Monte Hill .. this model outshines the one I shared with you by miles. My only concern is the weight though when considering how much you and I would be required to lift this lovely, hi-tech beast onto bus racks etc.; add side saddles and potential shopping results and.. hmmmm?

I would add aero clip ons for my commute, get a little more range out of it.  I could commute every day of summer on this thing, and it would be quite the complement for my Chevy Volt.  I usually commute 3 days per week on my road bike during summer now.  That would be the trouble, its a lot of money to fit just a little niche in my life.

What ebike do you like more Court? The Stromer ST2 or Grace One? They look aesthetically similar.

There is a reason the industry is moving away from hub motors. I have a Stromer. 1000 miles in and the motor burnt up. IF you live in the US - Stromer is hard to get ahold of and not eager to warranty these. Call your local dealer and ask how long the wait time is on a motor for one of these and you'll find they are on backorder, because they can't keep up with how fast they are burning up. Learn from my mistake, go with a mid drive, Bosch or Yamaha - Stromer is amateur.

Good review, but I can't believe people will spend $7, 000 on an ebike! Looks to be a huge profit margin on those.
