Slow to Anger

True story about anger: I had a late friend whose brother was a General Authority for a few years before he died. She told me that as a child and in subsequent years, this great man had a terrible temper and was always arguing and trying to pick fights, while no one else in their large family had the same personality problem. She said that with a lot of fasting and prayer and effort, he was able (through many years) to stop losing his temper so easily. It was a miracle that someone with that background would one day be a General Authority. This shows us that anyone can overcome the weakness of anger, if we really want to.

Whenever I listen to his talks I get goosebumps . I miss him very much. I was baptized in 2006 during President Hinckley's leadership. I have been a person of great anger and often violence. This continued until it ended with great sorrow and remorse. If only I had been taught such things as a child. Pres. Hinckley speaks the truth. I have learned that... finally.
