don't hate me cos i'm beautiful

WHY do us women seem to hate women who know they're beautiful? Why IS it so frowned upon to say 'I know i'm pretty'. Why IS it seen as more normal to talk crap about ourselves, than it is to compliment ourselves? It's so strange to me, as we're all 'women should support women' - but only if she's not too pretty (and even worse - if she KNOWS she's pretty). Then, instead of supporting this woman, we try to bring her down! It's almost as if her knowing her beauty, reduces ours in some way. I'm not even saying it's wrong, to be honest. I think that it boils down to the fact that we see attractive women who know they're attractive, as being arrogant. And so, we try to bring them down a notch. But why? Why don't we ALL feel confident enough to say, when we think we look really pretty? Why DO women hate beautiful women? Or is it just that we don't like 'arrogant' women?

I love girlies who think they're beautiful! My problem is when ppl use the "everyone hates me because I'm pretty" excuse to justify personality problems. I had a friend who used to be very rude and impatient with her coworkers, then say everyone hated her because they were jealous. Like no, girl, it's because you were rude.

There is a huge difference between arrogance and confidence. Most people find arrogance quite ugly. In this superficial age, maybe we should all practice more humility.

I agree with the commenters who have said that it’s one thing to feel and say that you are beautiful but another to say that everyone else is jealous of you because you are the most beautiful person. There is so much beauty in the world. That’s like saying “a flower is more beautiful than a tree.” Many different flowers and trees are beautiful and comparing rather than just appreciating the beauty is a waste of energy.

I agree with the comments section here. Imagine if someone walked around talking about how rich they were, or how successful they were, and how people were jealous of them and treated them badly because of it. We would find it pretty obnoxious, even if it were true. People generally find arrogance to be an unattractive personality trait.

If you’re truly beautiful, you can just be beautiful; the material will speak for itself and people will do your bragging for you. Most of the time, if you have to loudly assert positive qualities about yourself, it’s because you’re trying to convince yourself of them. Affirm yourself in the mirror, it’s not necessary to do so for the validation of an audience if it really is about self-affirmation.

Nothing wrong with thinking, knowing, believing you are attractive, but I can't imagine why in general life, unless directly asked, there is ever a reason to state it

I don't say I am pretty because I know it's so subjective. Some people might find me pretty but others might find me hideous. I just work on feeling okay in my skin and not worrying about being pretty or not. I have more important traits to cultivate than fleeting beauty

Not gonna lie anyone I've come a crossed that was like "Girls don't like me cause I'm too beautiful" usually had the worst personalities and always made everything about them. I have many beautiful friends and I think I'm pretty as well and we are very loving and friendly to each other. The jealousy stuff is usually something that happens in high school and I think most people grow out of it.
