Here's the info on the various stat types from the SWTOR Wiki! Thank you so much for watching!

Base Stats -

Mastery:
Primary attribute for all classes. Increases aptitude in combat.
Endurance:
Increases the amount of damage that players can suffer before being defeated.
Presence:
Increases the effectiveness of player's companions, their damage, healing, and health, as well as bonuses to crew skill time efficiency and critical rate.

Offensive Stats -

Accuracy Rating:
Increases the chance that player's attacks will affect the target.
Alacrity Rating:
Increases the speed at which abilities are executed.
Critical Rating:
Increases both the chance that an attack will deal increased damage, as well as the amount of that increased damage.

Defensive Stats -

Absorption Rating
The percentage of damage prevented when an attack is absorbed by the player's shield. (Only applicable if you have a Shield equipped in your Offhand slot)
Defense Rating
The chance to avoid incoming attacks, broken down by attack type.
Shield Rating
The chance that incoming energy or kinetic damage will be reduced by the player's shield. (Only applicable if you have a Shield equipped in your Offhand slot).

Power Stats-

Power:
Increases the damage and healing bonuses added to abilities.
Force Power:
Increases Force damage and healing abilities.
Tech Power:
Increases Tech damage and healing abilities.

There is also no benefit to using the crafting bench. You can just press C then ctrl+RMB the piece you want to modify and then modify it as if you were doing it at a station. It costs the same either way so the benches are pretty much just a cosmetic thing. I don't know why they didn't make it necessary to use benches, but they are completely obsolete.

So do they have to be gold armor for mods to be put on I don’t have slots for my armor or weapon
