Interesting video, I didn’t know there was such a height difference between northern and southern Chinese people. A lot of the Northern guys would be even taller than Americans, changes my perception of Chinese male height.

The difference between southern Chinese and northern Chinses.
1.Accent(The common way to distinguish each other in China)
2.the usage of plate(put bone and put food).
the stature difference between south and north is 3~5 cm.(Although majority of northern girls suppose that southern guys is unlikely to over 170(5'7'')in height).I'm 5'8'', a lot of southern men are taller than me especially 2000s generation.

I think Northern Chine were like Mongolians, not mongol origin but they are part of the Mongol Era. Rushing into Europe, reaching peak fame and assimilated for decades and then returned to China. It would more surprisingly if they are not little taller, despite having oriental contours face

Actually in reality as of 2020 southern Chinese aren't that short. Really in today's China the only short population is the senior citizen aged population in these southern provinces of China. As a white American I feel like the Southern Chinese are everbit as tall as alot of westerners in average height with most westerners in Europe or in North America around 175 cm to 178 cm for men and this feels the same way for young adult southern Chinese men. The northern Chinese are taller and look more on the same level as northern Europeans like the Dutch and the Scandinavians in the 180 cm to 183 cm range. Found a website called sixthtone showing data from 2013 saying that for all of China 56% of Chinese men between the ages of 20 to 25 are between 175 cm to 180 cm. There is nothing short about young adult Chinese men on average even in their southern provinces of China. They are just shorter on average then in the north but the north Chinese are even as tall as northern Europeans in the 2020s and northern Europeans are the tallest in Europe.

Never ask a Chinese person who's not from/hasn't been the part of China you want to know about. This is actually true for people everywhere, but in my experience, all Chinese people, regardless of where they're from seem to all have a very well-defined view/opinion about the places that aren't where they're from and they tend to over-exaggerate those opinions to foreigners. For example, southern Chinese tend to harshly criticize northerners as being rude and brutish and northerners criticize southerners as being fickle and insincere. While I see where *some* of these opinions *may* have come from, I think these conclusions are both generally untrue.

Because they are two difference ethinics . Northerners are origin Han, southerners were agricultural residents in south of Yangtze river that was called disdainfully YUE by HAN chine.
