I'm from Ireland and it's also an extremely expensive country to live in with a severe housing crisis and cost of living crisis. That's not to say it's special in this regard as it seems housing crises and inflation are plaguing many countries. Yes there are many people with good salaries but for those who aren't, they really struggle to rent and/or get a mortgage. Much more needs to be done for many people here in this bracket. I also don't think the average salary is as high as quoted in your video. I got a figure of €44, 202 per year for 2023. Though this isn't a good metric to go on as it doesn't show spending power and cost of living or even what salary most of society is on. It includes a minority of extremely wealthy people which upsets the data.

Ireland made a really smart move by attracting corporations with the bait of limiting their taxes. That attracted a lot of jobs for the average Joe.
