You Again! - The Powerpuff Girls (SPEEDPAINT)

howdy everyone! happy 2020. :)

i started on this piece back in october, but it was left as a wip until now. i thought i might as well finish it, since i had already spent so much time on it!

consider this a sequel to my previous ppg speedpaint that i did several years back. since i've gotten better at drawing/character design, i'm glad i got to revisit the girls (and the guys!) i don't have ethnicities set in stone for them, since they are chemical spawn after all. it's nice to play around with how they could look like, though!

this is also inspired by a fic called 'more than human' where they're in high school? embarrassed to say but i'm into it, despite how painfully straight it can be at times. that's also why i try to make the powerpuff/rowdyruff counterparts as different as possible, when people make them look like siblings AND ship them together... i can't say i'm on the same boat

(also i drew them in the show's style because i found out that the pgg style is super fun to replicate lmao)

I shipped the Powerpuff Girls with basically all the Rowdyruff Boys when I was a kid, so this video definitely made my morning.

After growing up they then gained the amazing ability of having hands instead of their weird stumps that they somehow use to pick up things like seriously it's weird. But hey... HANDS

I love how you gave buttercup and butch sharper lines and features and kept bubbles and boomer really soft, communicates a lot about their character, nice job! love the redesigns 💕

While I love all the redesigns, there's one thing that brothers me, and I think it's blossom. While I think she looks gorgeous, I don't think it resembles much of her old design. Like I can tell she's supposed to be blossom when put next to the other two, but if she were by herself, I would think she where an oc.
That's my only issue with her. I think she looks amazing, but not like a blossom redesign. Like Bubbles and buttercup look resemble closely to their old design, while still remaining different.
I think the only thing I would change about her is her hair color. Maybe instead of a straight pink ponytail, Perhaps she has Orange streaks? I do really like the natural brown hair she has at her roots. But the unnatural pink hair look very out of place if that makes sense.


That's my only issue with the redesigns. Other than that, I think all of them look fantastic!
Even then, my criticism might just be nicpicking, so just take it with a grain of salt.

Hey, quick tip: the idea of flipping the canvas is so you can get a fresh look at it. If you flip it too often you get used to it in both orientations, so it doesn't really do much good anymore.
Regardless, I love this!

I remember watching those episodes when I was a kid where they interacted, and I was soooo confused because I thought they were twins. This is a really cool concept though! And I love the outfits you put them in!

This is so cool! I love that you made them look diverse..while I do think some of the rrb x ppg ships are cute, it does throw me off sometimes since they look like twins :l and while the powerpuff girls was(and still is) my favorite cartoon, I wish the girls looked different from each other rather then just the same skin with different eye and hair color

First time I’ve seen a black blossom and boomer A+ for creativity and I love everyone’s designs their so unique and I’ve never seen anyone do anything close to that so A+++ for just making these awesome designs

I love everything about this. It’s completely original and beautiful. I can feel a story coming from this and it’s so beautiful. It’s rare that I actually sit and watch a speed paint, but I’ve been looking at yours for 3 hours at this point. I loved that you changed the skin tones and gave them a certain aesthetic.
