The Korg has what they call a "dryer" sound rather than the "wet" sound the Yamaha has. The Korg has settings to reduce or increase the dry sound of each instrument. I was on the fence between the Korg and Yamaha so I downloaded the manuals for both the Yamaha PSR-SX900 and the Korg PA1000. The Korg has settings that are similar to my electronic drum module (Roland TD27) for my electronic drum kit. The Korg not only allows you to pick the drumset, but also the individual drums and cymbals themselves. I have also created drum styles by importing drum MIDI files from Superior Drummer 3 then adding additional accompaniments in the style. Korg has a screen setting that shows the fret of a guitar and allows you to add notes and playing technique. The Korg seems complicated from looking from far away, but it really gives quite a bit of control over your instruments.
I purchased the PA1000 as I can make it sound like the Yamaha by adding compression and wetting the sound.

( For best classical styles and synth voices - Korg )

( For best western styles, acoustic styles and acoustic sounds - Yamaha )

It seems that Korg Pa700 is better as an arranger (more natural styles) and maybe Yamaha PSR-SX700 for sounds. My 2cts.

So many comments on sounds on here. While important sounds can easily manipulated and changed. Features usually can not be changed and the ability of the player can not be changed unless they choose to do make it so. My advice, instead of focusing on which one sounds better or is better to you, instead focus on making yourself a better player so either in your hands would sound like the best option.

We bought a P700 from Keith at A &C Hamilton. It took a few weeks to get familiar with the work paths. But it has been brilliant for accompanying the StHelens Singers.

I'd take the korg over the yamaha as you can edit the sounds much more in depth.

Korg any day. Technically and professionally far superior and perfect in their execution.

Korg is the best for sound rather than sx700 in terms of deep editing and sx700 voices the same as the old PSR S series.

Korg is always Korg. The sound of the Korg is realistic and clarity also so good. I suggest all to take Korg. I am using Korg PA700. We have to customize the keyboard otherwise Korg is nothing
