Hi Kat, grief is the worst part of life that we have to deal with. But I remember something that my grandparents (who raised me) shared with me; the best way to keep those we lost alive is keep living and thriving as they would want us to! So that they can watch over us and protect and cheer us on. I personally still talk to my grandparents constantly, I know it sounds crazy, but trust me it helps. I honor them by trying to be the best version of myself that I can be and think of them often, and live life like they would want me to! I am glad that you are still motivated to draw, read, and shop for your new niece. That shows you are still thriving through your grief and that is all we can do. Wishing you all the best, sending you healing thoughts.
