I'm not first,
I'm not last,
But when I see Tiffany,

This piece is a happy sob, a phone call from your lover across the country whom you haven't seen in months and yet there's a lingering sorrow: the lurking goodbye in each-other's tone while minutes tick by and it seems neither of you can forget that you are far off and so lonely. It is love strangled by distance.

someday I'll be able to play this, I promise this to myself and to those who are reading this. I'm just a beginner as of today and I will return when I'm already not.

Play it more gently.
Like you're caressing a baby's head.
Play it like you're embracing him.

~It's like I heard these lines while listening to her play
It was beautiful I felt like crying...

The phrasing and character is so on point! Marvellous, Tiffany!

The first version I heard that actually has consistent dynamics that allow Kreisler's melody to be heard as intended. People tend to to overemphasize all the notes Rachmaninoff wrote as pure "decoration" so that the actual melody drowns in a sea of inconsistent dynamics.

Your Rachmaninoff always flow so immensely beautifully, filled with emotion

although, i voted for the "widmung, " this was a great encore, nonetheless, "romantical" and coquettish. thank you for a beautiful recital, certainly worth the 130 mile drive.

It’s incredibly underrated how hard it is to get the perfect ‘touch’ down when performing. This couldn’t have been better. Absolutely stunning...

Joy is the greatest feeling

Dreams are your greatest friend

But sorrow.... Sorrow is the greatest teacher
