A few weeks ago we compared the Royal Enfield Interceptor with the Triumph T100, we felt the interceptor has slightly more character when compared with the Triumph.

When people start comparing a £6600 Royal Enfield bike to a £12, 000 Triumph
For me It's says alot on just how good the cheaper bike must be.

I've got a triumph bonny. I've ridden the RE. But in terms of raw power, torque, the "sound" & the Bonny definitely triumphant

The RE is definitely more immersive, but immersive can get tiring on long rides. If I were doing a lot of 100+ mile rides, I probably would choose the Triumph because it is tamer and more refined, which is very much appreciated after you've been riding all day.

Riding 50 odd years now. Had a bunch of different bikes. Brought 2008 865cc efi bonneville. This is one I'll never part with. The trumpy does most things very well, trouble free, done 50k ks with zero issues! And services/maintenance is a doddle. Best bikes in the world.

I prefer the old 865 Bonneville. It just feels less refined and a bit more like the Enfield

Thats the thing with RE. I always made fun of my RE owner friends, that they are missing out on technology, power etc etc. Then few years ago, I had to look after my cousins RE classic 350 as he went out of country for work some months. Rode that bike regularly. It gradually grew on me., something I never experienced before. I came to understood why those RE friends mine said it was never about performance its about the "feel" or the "emotion"(as they would say). Ironically today I'm looking forward to buy the new classic when I make eniugh savings 😂.

In India, we can get the interceptor 650 for just about 3.2 lakh of rupees which is about 3500 in US dollars. And it's a great machine btw

I like interceptor, but for me there are 2 things I like more in Triumph. It's lower center weight and more torquy engine.

Nailed it. Love the character of my INT650. I rode one fitted with the S&S 865 kit and pipes. THAT was one MEAN machine! 👌

I love my Triumph if I were going to buy another bike it would definitely be a RE. I say another bike, because I would not get fid of my Triumph. It was my 50th. birthday present from my sister. And, I just plain love it. Blue and white 2011 Triumph America. Rides, and runs smooth as silk, rides and pulls two-up great. God bless and ride safe.

I’ve had both…make no mistake, that “raw” and character that they are talking about is just lack of quality control. Sure it’s characterful that it has a bunch of false neutrals between 3rd and 4th and 5th and 6th if you are not forceful with your gear change…..and it’s raw that the rear end shimmies on it’s lousy brakes and suspension. Whereas the “refined” that they talk about on the Bonneville is quality control. It is modern because it works and has gear that you can rely on….trust me you don’t want “immersive” when it comes to servicing and leaving it at the shop for nearly 9 months because of parts shortage due to factory casting faults.

For me its the interceptor aestethic. It looks fantastic and very easy to upgrade in many many ways
