WHAT HAPPENED TO GOLDEN SUN? + Will Golden Sun 4 be on the Switch

Get ready for a real nostalgia trip today. In today's episode we're talking about all things Golden Sun, a bit of a retrospective on the past and the original games (Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age) as well as taking a look at Dark Dawn's reception and determining why it didn't do as well, and whether or not we can expect to see any future Golden Sun games (even on the Nintendo Switch). Though Dark Dawn overall did well to continue the series' style and gameplay, unfortunately to many fans it fell short in one area or another. Because of Dark Dawn's shortcomings and its lack of overall revenue for Camelot, any potential plans for a Golden Sun 4 may have been shelved, and judging by their full schedule of Mario sports games they have been working on consistently over the past 7 years, it seems unlikely that we will get another Golden Sun entry any time soon, even for the Nintendo Switch. What became of Felix and his offspring? How about the western half of Weyard left unexplorable in Dark Dawn? What about Alex? Hopefully someday we will be lucky enough to get these answers.

My problem with Dark Dawn was that the story was kinda boring compared to the conflicting two first games. Also, Dark Dawn just felt like a fan fiction game while the first two felt like an epic journey. having the sons look EXACTLY like their parents didn't help either. Where was the originality? Plus, the game was waaaay too easy.

When my little 13 year old self played golden sun for the very first time, it cemented a love for RPGs only Chrono Trigger has ever rivalled. I've been looking for something to revive that feeling ever since

I remember spending entire days running up and down the same hallway on a secret island, fighting blue phoenixes for massive xp, to level all 8 chracters to 99. The DS game lost me after a point of no return past where I'd seen a Djinn, too much dialogue to restart, and too little connection with the new characters to keep me going.

I love golden Sun. I grew up playing it on my brothers Advance and bought it myself as soon as I had the money. I still play it today. But I was disapointed with the DS game. the first two had a very clear main quet. And I loved the plottwist that you had to do the exact oposite in the second game. But Dark Dawn wasn't so clear. you get what you wanted in the first place quite early in the gameand the rest just felt like a side quest. The puzzles were too easy and explained in cutscenes. And even the hardest puzzle of the entire game was solved quite easily if you used the mirror.
Sometimes I felt like some Psynergy was just there to use one time and you even had to get one character to your party just so you could use the third eye three times.
And I didn't liked all the 'machines' - that there weren't any spirits and it was all technology. In the lost age was only one machine; the great gogomba. And even he had a spirit inside.

But for me the worst part was the ending. We got home and bam! Vortex and end credits. It just felt too open. Golden Sun had a open ending too, but it was a satisfying ending. We had a ship and set sail. But in Dark Dawn it didn't seem like an end. Just the beginning of another sidequest and I was very confused when it suddenly ended.

I think I gave up hope when Isaac wasn't made a playable character in Smash 4, not even as DLC, and his assist trophy was one of the few being cut from Brawl.

This just made me sad how much of a good game we lost. I always come back and revisit online to see if there’s new information on content. This is the best I’ve probably heard in years. I’m glad someone did this for us!❤️

I loved this series. It was one of the very first GBA game screenshots I saw in a magazine and when I actually played it, I was blown away by the system's ability to produce so many flashy effects.

I think that it's unfair to compare potential Golden Sun remakes to the Zelda remakes on the Wii U. They probably would've sold better if they weren't on a poorly selling console.

A fourth Golden Sun, even if it's the last to wrap up the story once and for all, is all I ever want. I want to see the whole of the original cast as adults, I want to know who they had children with, I want to know what the deal is with the Tuaparang, and so many other things left unanswered, particularly with the villain's motivations.

Man the music in the gba golden sun was so good I used to go into the sound player to listen to the it with my gba sp closed. I would leave my CD player behind to listen to it. It was so good.
