Wow great explanation. I think with all the people using Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro (diabetic and non diabetics) it will be interesting to see what issues are found. I do remember when PhenPhen came out and the issues with heart valve. As a matter of fact, I work for a Life Insurance company and at the time if it was found that you ever used phenphen, they were declined for insurance even if they did not have heart valve issues.

Thank you, I was interested in the drug, I have insulin resistance and love all food. But I'll just keep building on lifestyle changes. I struggle with this sometimes, our home is surrounded by supermarkets, fast food and corner shops selling confectionery. We're moving to somewhere less food obsessed. UPDATE we’ve moved, and it’s better, easier to be more active, relaxed and happy 👍

Unfortunately, not many MDs speak out about the risks involved when messing with your hormonal system.

There was not a whole lot of in depth information back then, as I am seeing now. I have concerns about kidney function too. Interesting to hear that kidneys can recover and to hang in there. One thing I noticed is a lot of complaints about constipation which means you need more water as you could possibly be dehydrated; and extreme dehydration can cause kidney injury and lower GFR or kidney function.

I was looking to use Wegovy, temporarily as an adjunct, and otherwise eat healthy and exercise regularly. Would you recommend that this is generally safe?

I have my diet as a lifestyle. 20 gms carbs, lean meats and fish, green vegetables. I am angry that people using Mounjaro still eat junk. I am the poster child for changing my health and Mounjaro is a tool for getting the weight off.

Ozempic dangers

I'm laying here in bed because I took Ozempic (Semaglutide) for 3 months and almost died. This drug caused me constant bloating which made me feel full, but sick when I did force myself to eat. By the 3rd month the damage was done. My liver developed advanced cirrhosis which led to bleeding in my stomach and upper GI tract. I lost so much blood that my hemoglobin went down to 9 and I needed 2 units of blood at the ER. I had then scheduled a upper GI Endoscopy for 3 weeks later. But on the second week just before my appointment my hemoglobin went down to 5.1 and I became delirious and unconscious. My friends hadn't heard from me and broke into my house and quickly called me an ambulance. I was rushed to a nearby ER for 2 pints of blood they squeezed into me to stabilize me and then taken by helicopter to a major hospital where they had to squeeze 2 more pints of blood into me. They found fluids in my chest (dead blood cells) that has to be drained and performed the Upper GI Endoscopy where they had to band the bleeders. I had received 3 more units of blood just to bring me back up to a hemoglobin of 9. I was discharged a week later. My organs are damaged now and I have been seeing doctors 3 or more times a week. I may need a liver transplant now from biliary cirrhosis. I did have a prior fatty liver, but I hadn't had drink in over 8 years. There is a October 2022 published report from Indiana University School of Medicine of someone else my age (male 50's) that required a liver and kidney transplant after using Semaglutide for 6 months. The report found no other explanation for his diagnosis. My hemoglobin counts are slowly improving, but I am unable to leave my bed for more than a few minutes due to all the complications caused my body.

Everyone is losing there minds over these quick fix weight loss drugs. Do they intend on taking the medication forever? I foresee an upwards trend in pancreatic and thyroid cancers. So sad.

I have taken many medications over the years that showed risks of side effects, including cancer. I don't recall seeing any medication that didn't have side effects. So most people have believed these "possible" side effects comments where more of a legal disclaimer then fact.

I have been to health coaches, nutritionists, and doctors who have advised me how to eat healthy. I have never been a consumer of vegstables and everyone tells me that about 50% of my diet should be vegtables. I have always been told that someday I will pay for this. :(

Sounds like checking my full panel thyroid and checking my bloodwork for thyroid cancer at least every three months is the way to go when taking Mounjaro

How does this work for someone that has already had thyroid cancer?
