is this transceiver working? Stop guessing. Know for sure with the FiberLert Live Fiber Detector. No setup or interpretation required – just place in front of the fiber end face or port and a light and tone indicate an active fiber. This pocket-sized tool tests single-mode, multimode UPC and APC patch cords and ports using a “non-contact” / non-contaminating detector.

Such a great tool to have. Today I went to fix the connection between two switches. They were interfaced each other via fiber and SFP. I found out that the SFP were bad. But did not have a tool or tester. I just replaced the SFP by trial and error. I just ordered one.

Hi i notice i get latency spikes when i play video games the back of my router port blinks but my pc ethernet port blinks a lot slower and sometimes it take about 1-2 seconds to blink again. When these long pauses happen between blinks i notice this is when i get a ping spike. Could this be my cable not sending data sometimes? Or is it my pc? My wifi is perfectly fine
