Windows 8.1 is dead 😭

Windows 8.1 is at end of support today - are you still using it?

Im still using windows 8.1 on my main pc in 2024 and I dont plan on upgrading it anytime soon. Ive used Windows 10 and 11 and I still prefer Windows 8.1 over those operating systems. I love the start screen its unique in its own way

I am an Apple user and barely use my Mac for actual Mac tasks, but I think the main reason that people didn't update to windows 10 is because the interface was so different. They like the older interface of Windows 7 and 8/8.1.

Windows 8.1 is much smoother but the downside is that RT 8.1 has no store apps and apps are really hard to get cause it has a arm processor and wine is hard to install although it is possible

I am still using it on an older PC from 2013 that CAN run Windows 10 but as not well as Windows 8.1 so I'm stuck with it as Windows 10 is unbearable on this thing.

I have the Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 ISO files saved to my computer's hard drive. I use Windows 8.1 on an older laptop that I connect to the internet and run old games on. I don't keep personal information on it for obvious reasons, but I love using it.

I can’t believe you were holding up a Surface Pro. I have an original Surface Pro. It’s a Windows 8. I had gotten cancer and was sick for awhile. So my Surface has been just sitting in a closet. It wasn’t running properly. So I thought I would set it back to factory settings. BIG MISTAKE! now it won’t give me options to connect to Wi-Fi or even a hot spot. And I don’t have dial up. And there’s not a slot for Ethernet on the Surface. I’m trying to figure out how to get this upgraded to 8.1 (which is also not a thing anymore) so that I can then go to Windows 10. I’m trying to not spend a lot of money to do this because I don’t know if it will work.
Can I just install Windows 10 with a usb? Do I have to install windows 8.1 before I can install Windows 10? This was $1000 plus tax when I bought it. But I got sick and so I used my phone more. Because I just wasn’t sitting up very much. Help!

I have the same tablet. I'm wondering whether I should just dump it. The Clover Trail cpu isn't supported in Windows 10 anymore also.

Why i cant update mine is there another why because my windows tablet has clovertrail chipset and i search about it and it i cant upgrade it to windows 10 anymore is there another way? Thanks for anyone reply to this
