Rambo 6: New Blood has been announced, with Sylvester Stallone reprising his iconic role as John Rambo in what is being hailed as the franchise's most emotional and intense chapter yet. Lionsgate has confirmed the film is in development, and production is set to begin in early 2025.

This time, Rambo faces an entirely new challenge as he confronts his legacy and grapples with the idea of passing the torch. The film introduces a new character, a young protégé with a mysterious connection to Rambo’s past, played by The Boys breakout star Jack Quaid. The duo must team up to thwart a deadly international conspiracy involving mercenaries and corrupt government agents operating on U.S. soil.

Director Chad Stahelski (John Wick) is helming the project, promising a visceral and high-octane experience while delving deeper into Rambo's psyche. "This movie is about legacy, redemption, and the price of violence," Stahelski revealed in a recent interview. There has to be a new production, to be titled "Rambo, The Series." Sylvester Stallone could produce, but he would not appear in more than a handful of its installments.
This John James "J. J." Rambo would be the nephew of Stallone's "Uncle John" Rambo, and likewise both a former Green Beret and a war veteran. But he would use his military skills, training, and expertise to help people in trouble--as a soldier of fortune.
It'd be like "The A-Team, " but with less humor, one mercenary instead of four, and both more graphic violence and more explicit language than that show had had.
Stallone could then first recruit, and then train, a protégé to star in the series.
