Australian breakdancer Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn has lifted the lid on her now-infamous Olympic performance.

In her first interview since the Paris games, Raygun spoke of the global backlash and apologised for the negative attention it has put on breakdancing.

After last month's Olympic performance, the Australian B-girl became an overnight sensation, making headlines worldwide.

Ms Gunn also addressed speculation about her qualifications and whether she was the best B-girl for the games.

She’s not a B-Girl, stop saying that. Also that was not an apology.

She DID have control. She could have not gone and let one of the hundreds of better performers go.

Notice her “apology” -she’s sorry people chose to react the way they did to her performance…

She's still in denial. Her ego can't handle the criticism. A good sport would have admitted that perhaps she isn't the best dancer in Australia.

She killed the whole Olympic sport of break dancing

She is not sorry, she just wants to continue to milk her 15 minutes of fame. The media should focus on the amazing Paralympians winning medals right now instead of her.

Please her boyfriend was on the selection comitee and her coach, they got married 3 days before leaving on a free honeymoon to Paris and all she had to do was make an ass out of herself for 3 minutes

She wanted a free trip to Paris with her husband. Funny her husband was selected for head coach.

She's sorry she received overwhelmingly negative criticism? What the hell kind of apology is that? A much more talented dancer lost the opportunity of a lifetime so "Raygun" could make a fool of herself on an international scale.

The entire Olympics was a ridiculous circus

It's not just the negative attention on breakdancing, she embarrassed Australia and made a mockery of athleticism and the sacrifices of those who want to be at the top of their game. She should be made to repay the Australian taxpayer for this ill conceived private junket through Europe.

Stop calling her a b-girl. She is 36 years old!

"I'm very sorry, but..." is always a great way to truly apologize.

She's not a break dancer. I would expect the same if I was lying about my so called profession

Typical victim: Using the shield of an "apology" to shame others for her own shame. (Does anyone know if she's started break-dance lessons, as yet?)
