Silverstone Multi Sata Power Connector Overview

We take a look at the new Silverstone Sata Power connectors, these allow you to fit multiple drives on one SATA power from your PSU helping keep things neat and tidy.

I have a couple of the 4 port cables, and they are great, a lot of cases don't have the room in the right side of the case and the power connectors from the PSU aren't flexible enough or don't have the connectors aligned like this, that is, perpendicular to the connector.  However, the one small issue with these is the trapezoidal power connector block - a bit thick but is easily stashed away.

Companies should make more of these cables and maybe include some like these in PSUs. It's good to have options.

Is it safe to use sata splitters??? the power will be a series connection...

I like the 4x cable perfect for storage Servers and the x2 would be Perfect for me as I have a DVD drive next to a scythe quiet drive :)

I will say that the Sata Power x2 connector are really close together and only application would be with Solid State Drives (SSD). With a normal 3.5 mechanical drive these would not work. On the Sata Power x4 however they are spaced apart nicely to work with both SSD or mechanical 3.5 drives. The only con I have it the end plug is very large in size...(thick) if you will. do it yourself, ...I buy the SATA power plugs off eBay, just crimp or snap them together, use an old PC power brick....solder the bottom to your existing SATA cable..if using more than a 500w power supply then all power loss
