For more realism it should be only many particles goin in one direction, slowly, but in a divergent trajectory. Then only the gravity can join them eventually, as a supernova makes them.

And maybe it would be interesting too do another with particles all in same distance between, with a little impulse each, going in random directions.

I think it would be interesting to see particles slowly stopping and becoming one mass. one of the ways you could try to achieve this is by accounting for friction. For each collision, the total velocity decreases.

Are the particles attracted to each other or an attractor at the center?

Pretty sweet. Hard to imagine that process on a massive scale

im proud of them. they did a really great job.

This is very cool, could you use it to simulate the formation of our moon?

make them appear hotter the more they are hit. the faster they hit, the hotter they get, and become cooler over time.

Seeing this, it just makes intuitive sense why our planet is so hot inside.

Truly a 8000 simulated particles making a planet! Moment

add a 3rd axis, and set up the particles to have random velocities and positions. Next add a way for each particle to have a heat value, and have a way of visualizing that.

That planet is probably smaller than you might think. Only 8000 particles would make something around the size of a molecule

pray to the guy that counted all of the particles

Energy and momentum does not appear to be conserved. The planet doesn't rotate after. Very cool sim.

Youtube compression loved that, and so did I.

These particles are also simulating what video compression does to video with a lot of moving pixels

Could you make a tutorial? THIS IS AMAZING

that these are all rigid and granular is nice to see
