TransHub Talks: Gender Euphoria

We want to talk more about gender euphoria! Gender dysphoria is so often considered integral to the trans experience but the distress some of us feel, when we are not able to affirm who we are, doesn't define us.

I recently discovered that i have a noticable Adam's apple and i was so euphoric that i kept taking pictures and screaming and playing the happy song💀

To me gender euphoria is taking a deep breath. You know, you felt your heart is lighter now, that is the exact feeling. And for gender dysphoria, you have to sneeze but it goes away and you have that aftertaste(?) of it

Gender euphoria is like finally being comfortable, like coming out of a cramped hot car and going out into the outside where it’s colder and spacious :) it’s nice

This is just my experience tho! I’m non-binary and everyone’s experience is different


just an edit from a year or two later: i found out a while ago that i actually identify more as male now, but i still like this metaphor xD i just wanted to say that bc idk- whenever i see an old comment of me calling myself nb im always like “eyyy i was wrong” or smth- lolz

I love that SO MUCH " I am NOT a woman trapped in a man's body. I'm a woman that has a woman's body." It makes me so uncomfortable when people try to be supportive by saying that I'm just a man trapped in a woman's body. I makes me more dysphoric. Because no.. I'm not.. I'm a man, and this is my body so it's a man's body. And when someone says that, it draws attention to the fact that they are paying a lot of attention to and gendering my body, instead of just seeing me.

Just a heads up. I'm not hating I'm just saying I've never heard of non trans people feeling gender euphoria. I think this might be a way to sell you the idea of not being in the right body
