I don’t know if they still do this or not, but Trader Joe’s used to hide a toy for kids to find in the store. It’s usually high up so other shoppers don’t take it, but if one of the kids spots it they can tell a store employee and then they get a lollipop. There is usually a ‘Wanted’ poster up somewhere saying what the toy is. Some kids love it, but be warned, some kids have an absolute meltdown when they find out that they just get a prize for finding the stuffed animal, but they don’t get the stuffed animal itself!

I’m from Phoenix, Az and I’m 46 years old and I remember when the first store here opened when I was a junior in high school in 1993. We use to go to SoCal a lot growing up because my parents had a beach house in Mission Beach San Diego and we would go to the Trader Joe’s there and my mom wished that we had one in Phoenix. Well when that one opened here my mom was pumped. It was like when In and Out first opened here in Phoenix some 20 years ago. It was exciting.

Trader Joe's was my first job as a teenager. Still the most wholesome, delightful crew experience and pay rate/stress ratio I've ever enjoyed, plus some of the nicest customers ever. Biggest issue was me spending most of my paycheck there buying groceries after work... 😂😂😂

It's still probably my greatest accomplishment that I sent you guys that bottle of everything but the bagel seasoning. I watch that episode every time I need a mood boost. Ollie chugging it will never not make me cackle😂😂😂

I shopped at the original Trader Joe’s, and used to drive 2 hours just to shop there. I’d come home with bags of French Brie, cambozala, wines, gourmet duck pate, cornichons, and Dijon mustard. A feast would ensue. That was over 50 years ago, and I still do 2/3 of my grocery shopping there!

I really hope that you guys show the video to the highschoolers about the Trader Joe’s inside since they’ve made all the funny comments about what kind of trading and what kind of store it was and I hope you guys brought back one of everything!

Truthfully one of my favorite things I've had in recent years I grabbed on a whim on a very rare trip to trader joes ( they are not in my area). The yuzu green tea marmalade. That on some buttered white toast is a truly tasty snack.

So I shopped at the very first Trader Joe’s ever, and when I moved from California, where I had FOUR TJs around my daily area, that was my only requirement. I had to have a Trader Joe’s. And I do. I have vintage bags that I use all the time. Hope you loved it.
