I'm from America and I'm mostly white and Native, but. When i was a kid my mom was in graduate school and would always pull me out of my own school to go with her to cultural things. Like seeing an African orchestra play, or a potluck where everyone brought 1 or 2 dishes from their home countries, etc. And my mom's absolute favorite cultures were like... Indian and other South Asian countries. And my whole life, I've always been raised with her appreciation for Bollywood, Indian food, Indian clothing, etc etc. And so just. Seeing this and hearing the song and everything, sometimes I get kind of envious and sometimes even wish I could have been Desi or something. I don't know. Just rambling i guess. I just share her love and appreciation for the culture and everything that goes with it.
