He was the best athlete of any sport on those Yankees teams. He's an absolute legend and one of my fondest memories was watching that 04 Red Sox teams finally conquer him. Im an M's fan and watched the entire ALCS like a hawk.

Not particularly a huge baseball fan by but as a huge fan of sports and its benchmarks, there are few and far between who could match the subtle intensity and sheer level of skill-driven natural clutchness this man had brought to a single sport. He changed the whole thing. An incredible figure in sports history, and there couldn't have been a better candidate to become the first unanimous inductee into a hall of fame.

Finally, I know I’m a Red Sox fan but you gotta respect Mariano Rivera, he’s a great closer. And the fact he was Unanimously voted into the hall of fame only proves how great he is. He’s the GOAT of baseball
