I worked on finalizing the new sliding bed frame by adding flip down legs and stops to keep it from over extending... then I had to do it all over again...

My name is David and with my dog Lefty we live full time in our ambulance conversion RV. I made this change to my life and you can too! Like, subscribe and comment - Lefty would appreciate it - he wants the adventures to keep coming!

The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke turbo diesel engine and a 4 speed 4R100 transmission. Lefty is a 65lb Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. We have been living full time in the campulance since July 2019.

Ahhh, Lefty looks ready to roll!! He's in the Campulance frontseat position. He's such an adventure dog! Kisses for Lefty!! ❤🐾👍✌🇺🇸 My Pittie use to eat that kind of fresh thick grass. Non-fertilized. I called him a cow when he'd do that because he was literally grazing. He ate it just because he loved it too. Never threw it up. Too cute!! Stay safe as well David and Lefty!

The slat frame looks really sturdy now, David. I think you're a great woodworker and quite precise in your measurements and cuts. Very nicely done. 👍👏
Lefty is just doing his job being the competent supervisor that he is. He keeps you moving along on your projects and oversees interlopers on the property.
Rewards are mouthfuls of tasty grass shoots. 🐶🐾

You are doing a bang up (and down) job as far as I can see David ... as per usual!

People that aren't from here usually don't get the humidity here. It should be a damn crime! Bed project looks good.

Hey there, David! I totally get what you’re saying about humidity! I lived in south-central Pennsylvania all my life until I moved to Wyoming 23 years ago. You couldn’t pay me enough to move back there!!!

I thought about recommending some paraffin to lubricate your bed slides, but forgot to mention it. Glad others picked up my slack. One of my sisters uses that stuff to make some really good chocolate-covered peanut butter balls at Christmas.

Oh, man, "The Tomorrow War" was indeed a complete waste of time. Very disappointing.

Judging from the size, I think I know what's in that Amazon box. Hope it comes in handy next time you're working with bolts in tight quarters.

You might need to chamfer the edges of your stops if they snag on your mattress when you're deploying/stowing.

Dogs will often eat grass for the nutrition. I fed my Great Dane raw meat mixed with garlic and kale and olive oil and a little bit of kibble. He lived to be 11 and had no health issues which is unusual for a Dane. Lefty is such a character. A good companion. I miss my boy.

What would make the bed a little bit more sturdy is to put a lip on the outside edge. Using a roughly 1.5" x 1" strip of molding, on of the outside edge of the bed that would also add to it's not flexing and also the Fold-Down Legs could hide behind it.

I've learned "We" always is smarter then "Me". It's a Constant. Does that make it a Universal Law??...
Great Build! 👍

Nice job on the bed David. I was thinking for mine since it is only 12 or 13 inches I would use drop down hinges with a single piece of wood. Love how Lefty is always on the job. Can't wait to get out of apartment living and have a devoted companion again. My boy pasted just before I moved here. I had him 17 years. I was very fortunate to have such a healthy fella. And won't we be seeing you tomorrow? Wish ME luck everyone, I sure could use it! LOLL!

It's so beautiful where your mother lives and all the places, parks you and Lefty go walking. Looks serene and peaceful. Just love it. Also, you did a good job on the sliding bed frame.
