Texas: The Issue Is - Katy ISD's controversial new gender identity policy

The issue of school parental rights got hot when Katy ISD recently passed a new gender identity policy. The school board, on a very close 4 to 3 vote, decided that teachers and staff are now required to tell parents if their child wants to be identified as transgender, change their name or use different pronouns at school. #lgbtq #texas #news

I'm glad Texas has it together, we are going through this in Missouri. It's gotten out of hand, Teachers losing their jobs for not knowing a pronoun of a child.

Seems these boards are cherry picking when the parent is responsible vs when schools say they’re responsible to decide for CHILDREN

since when does the school and government have parental rights. parents control medical treatment of their kids.

I agree not to indoctrinate children. Let’s not indoctrinate with religion either. Let’s also not turn schools into systems more and more like prisons like TX is doing by turning libraries or parts of libraries into detention centers. Be consistent.
