Good advice. A lot of people are quite naïve when it comes to buying on ebay. Your first point was quite important. Only bid at the last possible moment. The only reason you would bid any earlier is if you are busy at time of listing ending. Otherwise you are just telling other people that you are interested, and that changes their buying tactics. Not sure I agree with your bidding $100 over the existing price/bid though! My tactic is to just bid what you'd be willing to pay for it. Its therefore 100% risk free.

I really appreciate the recorded example showing you didn't actually have to spend the $100 over the bid. Good to know that strategy in case I see something I REALLY want pops up. It does bring up a funny hypothetical where you and just one other person end up doing the same thing and wind up overpaying waaay over that mark... maybe if I do $99 over the bid the other guy will get stuck with the $100 bill 😂

Ive been applying this system on my own for since I started buying on ebay.. and it has worked for me. I have never lost on an item that i really want... It boils down to how bad I want something vs how bad the other person wants something and who who is willing to pay more... I strike hard and fast in the last few seconds. I don't give them time to marinate or responding on my bid in the last 2-3 seconds.

Sometimes new sellers that only have 2 items sold really DO NOT have much to sell, and are just new. You can get something at great price from them, because they just want to sell fast and not into competition game... Its a risk, but I got some rare cool perfumes from occasional sellers that just only had 2 perfumes to sell

Heyooo I just won my first auction! Ebay does charge you *1 increment* more then the max bid, in my case, 3 dollars. Starting was 100, someone put 105, I put 135.76 and got it for 108! :D
