thanks for the idea! I like how you are thinking about solving practical problems. I think you did a good job, real world answer. I am up against the same issue, your video helped me out

Thanks for heads up about high temperature wire connectors. I'm adding a double oven to our new kitchen and I hadn't thought of that.

Good job man sometimes you can't get to where you need the electric and have to make provisions very smart

That's a creative idea, offering versatility that you wouldn't get from other solutions. Good point about accessibility, especially around the oven with temp issues and expectation of storage space in front of the panel and access to AFCI control. Previous decisions (like choosing a combined microwave and oven) pushed you into a less than ideal work around, but I'd be happy with the result. Here in Canada we've long been required to have separate circuits for both microwave and fridge. I was surprised to find mine on a multiwire circuit/shared neutral, of course with tied breaker handles. These days it makes sense to supply boxes for 240V appliances with four wires, if only in the interest of future needs....

The key, no matter your logic, is the inspector. How you handle him matters. I suggest you go see him or invite him to the job site. Show him the problem and your solution. If you just drop the job on him it could lead to a whole host of problems.

Thanks for posting this video. I just bought a steam oven 208/240V 60Hz 15A 3300W. I only have a 110 outlet. Talked to 3 electricians, all gave me different solutions. 1 said to change my panel, w/o rewiring and add a 240 outlet. 1 said I need to rewire, break my ceiling all the way to the garage (where the breaker is) but no need to change panel. 1 said no need new panel or breaking ceiling, just need to steal my gas range line as a dedicated line, change to 240, and make sure I have enough amp in my breaker box for that oven. Who should I trust? If you can help me out, that would be VERY much appreciated!

it probably has an internal transformer for the controls for the 120 etc.

I'm trying to connect a cook top and single wall oven together. What type of wire nut or connection method should I use to connect two #8 and a #10 wire together.
Thanks

Anyway I love you videos as things are explained in simplistic way and " accesable way" . Keep on doing good work bro. Hi from Naples Florida.

Hey man i like your videos. But since this is a sub panel now i think your in violation of 110.26 which is working space requirements for multiple reasons. But you did what you had to do.

If the name plate of a double oven reads 6.8KW (only one name plate), does that mean the whole unit is 6.8KW or do I have to multiple that by two?

cooktop and wall oven can be installed on the same circuit?

Which code book is that, who published it and where did you find it?

that is the worst idea for a panel board/load center I have almost ever seen. can someone walk up to disconnect the power without a ladder? where is the workspace clearance? that outlet could have been a AFCI outlet similar to a GFCI outlet. I could go on. Seems like you could have ran a new circuit being there is an attic there or crawler. i would delete this video tutorial immediately. does it work yes is it legal no. is it safe on the fence because of working space clearance.
