Pope Francis Releases New Encyclical 'Dilexit Nos' on the Sacred Heart of Jesus | EWTN News Nightly

Pope Francis has released a new encyclical calling for a renewal of authentic devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. "Dilexit Nos," meaning "He loves us," is the name of the Holy Father's fourth encyclical that he announced last June. In the document, Pope Francis argues that the spirituality of the Sacred Heart offers a response to our modern society dominated by consumerism and presents the heart of Jesus as the unifying principle in a fragmented world. Senior Vatican Analyst at EWTN News, Frank Rocca, joins to share what the subject of Pope Francis' new encyclical is. Rocca discusses whether the encyclical touches on any issues in the contemporary world. Coming out as it does during the Synod on Synodality in Rome, Rocca explains whether this encyclical has anything to say about the governance or structures of the Church itself and whether it has a message for the delegates of the Synod.
