I have returned home to Sonor drums in 2025. My first recording studio experience at age nine was on a Sonor kit the studio had and then I played this magnificent brand until I was thirty. I’m thrilled to return to the drums of my youth and they are now the drums of my future. I find myself excited beyond comprehension to create music on these astonishing, exquisitely made instruments that are truly breath taking and inspiring to play. I wish to thank Jerry Goldenson, Jeff Mulvihill, Henry Go and the whole team in the USA as well as Nico Lang, Christian Figgen, Jannis Köckmann and the entire team in Germany. Their collective enthusiasm, expertise, help and support was immeasurable. Thanks also to Mark Eldridge, Steele Turkington, Jim Feck, Ronn Dunnett and Mark Petrocelli for their contributions to the studio and live sets. I look forward to all that is to musically happen in 2025 and beyond as we celebrate Sonor’s 150th anniversary. Onward we go!

You can’t go wrong with any brand. All drum companies make top notch stuff these days.

amazing Todd... i'm a tama guy because i grew up in the 80s loving hard rock and heavy metal so i really enjoy playing vintage tama drums... that being said, i think Sonor has made the best drums for a very long time... they're just so beautiful to look at, like fine furniture, and the sound is incredible...

welcome back and looking forward to hearing more about these wonderful instruments... cheers!!

Fabulous! The Pearl Kits sounded amazing too, but Sonor gives you a warm tingly feeling -- next level!!

I've been a Tama player since 1983 (no endorsements, sadly). But when I bought my last set of drums 5 years ago or so, it came down to Sonor and Tama. I nearly left Tama but opted to stay. But I can say that Sonor drums are a stunning piece of instrument and the craftsmanship is beautiful. Most importantly, they sound clear and have the bite that I like to hear from a set of drums. But Tama is my musical partner and the difference wasn't enough to leave her!

Continued success!

Todd. Great to see you back with Sonor. Just watched your interview with drum and stage. Our personal stories growing up with an incessant passion for incredible instruments follow similar paths. Man did that interview hit home with me.
I am about to turn 55 and a year and a half ago, I was finally blessed to have the ability to build an SQ2 kit. When you spoke about the kit “giving back to you”, again, absolutely spot on. It’s hard to describe in words what that actually is, especially to non drummers.
I wish you the best with Sonor Drums. I hope you come out to the DC area sometime in the near future for a clinic.

When I saw your "stay tuned" announcement a few days ago I immediately thought back to your unbridled joy playing Steve Smith's kit at West Coast Drum Shop last year and I knew this was coming. Congrats and I hope your year is amazing!

Another absolute stunner of a kit.
Sonor have been my favourite drums for a very long time now, I'm happy to see more people jumping aboard the ship, though I will admit jealousy.

You may consider following in Danny Carey's tracks...he had Sonor create different thicknesses for the drum shells as they got larger in size. I think he had like 8 ply on the 8/10 (+) for the smaller tom sizes and then it got down to 5 ply on the largest floor tom. Thinner wood resonates more and the thicker wood will help the smaller drums project more. I love your content! I have been a drumming fan every since Pieces of Eight landed on my fathers record player. I am still watching all of the Drumeo content! Happy New Year Todd!!
