@pushtobreak The plug-in's (left, generator) output is an audio signal, yes. The oscilloscope is connected to the output from the right (decoder) channel of the plug-in.
You need the VCA to encode the CV onto an audio signal (i.e. the CV modulates the audio), since only an audio signal will pass through the interface into the computer.

This particular plug-in (Silent Way CV Input) is about sending CV and gate signals *into* the DAW, not out of it, but the rest of Silent Way is about sending CVs from the DAW outputs, yes.
The Digi 001 won't work for this without some special cables - see the compatibility section on the Silent Way website.

I'm trying to understand how this works...I am hoping to use it in ways it may not have been intended for. So please bear with me.
Why is the CV plugins out going into the VCA's signal in? Is it an audio signal? What output is the oscilliscope attached to?
Why do you need the VCA at all? Can you explain it's function for the dumb please? I expected the plugin would translate the envelope generator's signal directly into a usable envelope in Live?

Greetings. So I have ableton cv tools, a focusrite Scarlett 18i8 2nd gen, and endorphines shuttle control module. I'm trying to find out if there is anything else I would need to make everything work? And how I would patch everything.
