Got my beagle as a family pet. Knew they were hunting dogs but didn’t realize how strong their sense of smell is. Learned quick that it’s nothing like walking non hunting dogs. So interesting/entertaining watching them go into hunting mode even on a walk through the neighborhood

Hope that Checkers received a lot of hugs and treats for being such a good beagle!

These dogs are a beast at hunting rabbits I live in Virginia and sometimes we have rabbits in our back yard and when my beagle sees the rabbit his instincts kicks in and it's a amazing sight to see.

I have a house beagle, but it is bred into them, and i believe that she could hunt. It just comes naturally to them, and their noses are incredible. My husband refuses to hunt with her because he knows that if something were to happen that i would be upset. He is a smart man. She is my dog and my child.

I have a house beagle, but he goes crazy after squirrels on our walks. Interesting fact I learned is that they are all bred with the white tip on their tails, so hunters can find them in tall grass.

There is nothing that compares to that first moment that a young hound takes off on that first rabbit on their own.

Fantastic dogs. Their noses are something else and that alert they give off with a high tail flag... great rustlers! I've had 2 over the years. You seem like a good fella and I appreciate that. Hope you don't retire any by leaving them in the bush or giving them a bullet. I'd make any of your retirees a home here in Canada. Cheers!

I don't hunt with my Beagle because she's a Pocket Beagle. But man I love watching a Beagle get trained to run some game. That little "yark" they screech out is priceless. And what a great facility to use those trees that way! Re-use at its finest.

Great video!

I have a bluetick beagle I never trained a day to hunt but he can sniff out any small mammal and just get after it. He's brought me moles, rabbits, whistle pigs, a couple squirrel, even a feral cat once. He's a natural born beast

Man this is awesome!
The coverage of dog hunting on this channel is second to none. Ready for some more!

Also I like how the information that is passed along is educational, and informing. Keep up the good work being an advocate for hunting dogs. We need it now more than ever.

I must have watched this video a hundred times. I wish I knew a trainer here in New York because Kentucky is a long drive.
