As a man, I was treated horribly and abusively by the church over my divorce, They blamed me for everything that happened, true or not. I never lost my faith in the Lord, but as for the church I'm done.

I live in the largest retirement place in America and I have witnessed people leaving their faith because their spouse suffered and/or died. Our faith must be built on God’s words not our feelings, because our feelings can misdirect us

Amazing that you would pick Andy Stanley to make this point. He is just one of the reasons I left the “formal, organized” church. But I didn’t leave Christ, I will never leave Him. Will I fail Him? I have many times, but He always forgives me.
The organized churches like Andy Stanley’s and John MacArthur’s are corporations with 501c3 and CEOs called pastors who answer to no one. They are set up so they don’t have to pay taxes and many live lives of luxury while those that attend are watched closely and are told how to behave etc.
I know this because I used to attend GCC, MacArthur’s church.
Now I attend a home church that I’m sure would be looked down on by most so called pastors.
As for Andy Stanley his theology is so messed up, why you picked him to make your point is very strange to me.
