Auction XJ Jeep Cherokee Sport - How Bad is it?

I came across this XJ Jeep Cherokee Sport at an auto auction. These generation of Cherokees are one of my favorite chassis of all time. These cars are capable and awesome to drive. This one was involved in a front end collision. Is it worth saving?

I would buy that thing in a heart beat. XJs are so easy to work on I've had mine for 2 years and I've done so much work on it. I love these things.

if the engine looks good and the clock is semi low, you can do good with these, especially on the west coast. these engines go easily 250k+.

I daily drive a 96 XJ. 420, 000k on the original motor and trans. still gets decent mileage and it's great fun off road with minor mods.
I would snap that up at those low miles.

Man this was my favorite car, I grew up in the back playing SNES on the way to road trips with my dad he would put the back seat down and put a converter in for us.

I was given the car when I was 17 for high school, flipped it into the woods when I was 18 on pills I didn't know how strong they were. I would have died if I hadn't been so messed up. 10 years later I'm doing a lot better, I just miss that car so much.

Small price to pay for learning the biggest lesson of your life though.

Totally worth fixing it up.

With seats laid down it's way more comfortable to try sleeping/camping over night (no roof tent) in one of these than a full sized Wrangler for a 10th of the price👍🏼 ... and that's awesome ESPECIALLY when it's raining 🌧🤠

My neighbor has a similar jeep to this one with a 4.0 motor. we just got done rebuilding it. it's an excellent car!
