I doubt bakery pizza is anyone's favorite style but sometimes you crave a bakery slice and it hits the spot.

I stood and watched this review 🎉 Dave's a great guy! Even bought me a couple slices while we talked afterwards. Thanks Dave!

We call this pizza bread (it's a focaccia style). It is most often eaten at room temperature. I love the pizza bread from D'Amato's. I am so happy Dave stopped in to try it.

Love how Dave never turns down a picture. A true man of the people.

this place. Classic cash-only joint that does Italian staples so well. Their deli quality is phenomenal and they supply bread for some of the sub shops on the west side, too.

That’s focaccia bread, as a kid after working 16 hours a day I was offered a focaccia sandwich (salami, ham, mortadella & Swiss)or .50 cents I always took the sandwich 😄 RIP Mr. Ricci ❤️

I don’t think any of us expected it to be phenomenal, but it’s still a great shout out to a cool local place! Pizza clearly isn’t the focus, and that is perfectly ok. Their bread looks BOMB

D'Amato's has been baking bread for Chicago restaurants for decades. The loaves shown in the window have a crust and crumb to die for. The sheet pizzas are more of a focaccia and always have been. That one slice is a meal.
I drive from the suburbs just to buy the bread and pizza slices, so for me, it's in the high 8s

This video made me sad because my local Italian Bakery closed during COVID and never re-opened. Then burned down in a fire. Unfortunately, we can't have nice things anymore.

This bakery has been baking bread, pizzas and making sandwiches for about 80 years. They have a hundred year old coal fired brick oven in the basement. They sell their bread to a ton of Chicago restaurants and delis. Bari Foods next door is terrific, too. Sicilian pan pizza like Nonna used to make.
