Hostplus when fund below 200k then switch to REST when fund above 200k. Lowest admin fees. Passive index options 60% international 40% Australia. Lowest investments fees.

I'm with Rest using their balanced index option.
Once me and my partner hit 200k combined, I plan to open a SMSF to invest directly in ETFs which will allow me to minimise tax drag. You also have a lot more control over contributions, specifically double contribution strategies to avoid large tax bills on personal capital gains.

The information on active vs passive is correct, but the data you mentioned applies to developed markets. Have you completed any research into emerging markets and micro caps. Morningstar came up with some different results in these areas.

Good video but doesn't sound fair saying actively managed fund felt from 2018 because the whole world mkt went down. Probably if you show the index fund performance in this period it also went down. Also I was expecting some performance analyses showing "the best super of 2022" as mentioned in the title of the video. Data comparison or personal opinion are not recommendation, right?

Hi Irene. I'm 65, with $1.4m in a defined benefit fund, and looking to retire. My DBF has high fees and an average return. Looked at Aust Super, Host Plus, and HESTA, but the REST balanced index fund has the lowest fees with a consistently good return.
