THE LOUDEST TAKEOFF EVER | MiG-21 Bison | Indian Air Force

CAUTION: DO NOT USE HEADPHONES. This is the loudest takeoff ever filmed by me on camera. Yes I have filmed MiG-27 earlier which roars equally as the MiG-21 but as I was very close to this one, could feel the vibrations very evidently, not just in the ears but also on the ground.

It was more like a dream come true to watch this bird roar and pierce the sky like a rocket.

The MiG 21 was the first aircraft I flew as a 22 year old when I was commissioned. Have great memories of flying around on day and night patrol sorties. Retired as a TACDE instructor on the MiG 29s. Now flying A320 as an examiner for a living since But still miss the MiG 21 . since 2007

Great experience to be associated with this aircraft for me as I have worked in the MiG-21 all series as technician

Fun fact about the Mig-21. It does not have nosewheel steering, nor does it have toe brakes on the pedals. It has a free castering nose wheel and a brake lever on the stick. Turns are made by pulling the brake lever while pushing the rudder pedal in the direction of the turn, which allows for differential braking on the main landing gear. So when he lines up on the runway, you can see him jab hard left rudder in order to stop the turn, otherwise it would just keep spinning around in a circle.

One of the best interceptors still, but sure it’s reign is now over. Thanks for serving us.🙏🏻

When I would watch the SR71 take off from Kadena AFB in Japan, I felt like I was at a rocket launch. It vibrated your insides. SR71 was truly loud.

I have felt the THUNDER all my life. Waking up every day when the beast took off. And damn it was loud and it was my everyday alarm clock XD. Thank you so much for covering Indian Military aviation!!

Mig 21 is easy to make. Just attach wings & wheels to a missile. Simple right ?

One of the best videos for a scale modeller. The weathering details are very well captured. Thank you!

As much as I love these planes, it's time for them to be retired. The things have become so senile and dangerous to fly. The crash rates are proof. Everything has a life span. Mig 21s served well, now it's time for them to enjoy their retirement.

Agree that this bird is old. But maintaining MIG-21 for decades is not simple task.
Hats Off IAF 😍😍😍

It was a formidable aircraft when it first appeared on the scene, today it belongs in a museum, and should be flown for fun and at air shows. It should not be used for serious business, like guarding the skies of a nation.

Yep great iconic fighter jet and still very capable. Love their sound. I watch them in Romania at the annual BIAS - Bucharest International Air Show, they fly all day doing regular displays...awesome kick ass pocket rocket.

Nice to see the take off Mig 21. I too got opportunity to work as technician in 1982 in Mig 21 M series. Great memories 🙏

Line four of these up together on a runway on full afterburner and release the brakes...

...then you'll be 50% of the roar of the Avro Vulcan at take off.
