This is Avelo Airlines, a new and rebranded U.S. airline set to begin operations later this year using Boeing 737 aircraft.

Avelo Airlines was previously known as Xtra Airways. The carrier is the latest “new” U.S. airline with intentions to operate with the low-cost carrier model.

The founder of Avelo, Andrew C. Levy, was a former Allegiant Air executive, so Avelo Airlines will have an existing foundation with the low-cost model.

Andrew Levy eventually left Allegiant Air and became United Airlines’ Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2016.

He left United a few years later, bought Xtra Airways, and rebranded it to Avelo Airlines.

Avelo Airlines plans to use Boeing 737-800s with 189 seats. The carrier has already acquired and painted several of these aircraft.

No destinations have been announced. However, Avelo Airlines’ headquarters is located in Houston. Additionally, they’re hiring in Burbank, California.

Several U.S. airports have indicated plans to target Avelo Airlines’ flights, including Traverse City (TVC), Northwest Arkansas (XNA), and more.

3x weekly Bend/Redmond, OR (RDM) starting May 13
4x weekly Bozeman, MT (BZN) starting April 30
4x weekly Eugene, OR (EUG) starting May 12
4x weekly Grand Junction, CO (GJT) starting May 9
4x weekly Medford, OR (MFR) starting May 9
3x weekly Pasco, WA (PSC) April 29
1x daily Phoenix/Mesa, AZ (AZA) starting May 3
6x weekly Odgen, UT (OGD) starting May 4
3x weekly Redding, CA (RDD) starting May 20

You're planning to fly 189 seat aircraft into TVC and XNA? Is this transcript a spoof? Your airline would be fortunate to board 59 people once each day to any destination at each of these airports. I can understand your not wanting to disclose the airports that you plan to serve. It just would have made more sense to just tell us that Avelo's cities and the routes between them have not yet been finalized. I wish you well.
