I would LOVE to see you do trim colours for Behr. Home Depot is the easiest to get to store from where I live, so my family and I have been choosing colours from Behr.

I have sold Benjamin Moore paint for 21 years and I have to say the colors selections have changed dramatically in those 21 years. I used to sell a lot more white dove, linen and stock white a whole lot more but that super bright 0c-65 is pretty much it as far as the most popular white I sell. I do also sell a ton of oc-117 the simply white as well. Good video keep em coming. Thanks

I have elected to use BM White Dove nearly exclusively for thirty years. It has the slightest hint of cream and an even less hint of green, coming off as a REALLY sweet, soft, mellow non glare nearly white that goes with literally EVERYTHING. SW has a nice off white as well Pure White) but it's quite a bit more harsh. Toning it down would be Alabaster but that's toned down TOO much IMO whereas BM White Dove touches all those levels and comes out what I deem as "near perfect". Just my opinion. I just finished a job using SW Emerald in BM Swiss Coffee HALF formula and it turned out sensational. Dont be afraid to try half formulas! They can be fun, interesting and uniquely yours.

We've used Dunn Edwards Whisper White on all our doors, ceilings and trim since 1990. (For some reason, all the painters here use Dunn Edwards paints.) We like having a consistent white throughout the house and there's at least one decision we don’t have to make when we paint a room.

I ended up getting “involved” with Navajo White in a north facing room (a very good suggestion by a designer) then saw a vid by another designer who used it EVERYWHERE (walks, ceiling, baseboards) so I started with NW in my open concept… I LIKE the colour but am not crazy about contrast with the ceiling and haven’t resolved the “oak baseboard situation”. My own paint paralysis aside, I agree that this would be just gross or at least regrettable as a trim colour. I am beginning to think this is a tricky colour and maybe they all are! Just love your videos though 🤣

We used BM Elmira White on all our trim in our house built this year (Capitol White on walls). Elmira white is more of a taupe, and we love it!

Definitely agree with not using Navajo White (OC-95) as a trim color in a room with a SW exposure -- unless you like or prefer yellow baseboards and doors.

I found Navajo White (LRV just under 80) to have more color than anticipated, which was the reason I decided against painting the trim and doors in this color after living with the sample for several days. I decided to paint both the ceiling (ultra-flat sheen) and walls (eggshell sheen) in Navajo White. I actually prefer the color of the ceiling, which is softer than the color on the walls during both daytime and nighttime.

I'm OK with Navajo White in eggshell sheen on the walls, since this paint color paired nicely with the Martina White grasscloth by Kenneth James (a warm off-white grasscloth) that I installed on the accent wall. I opted instead to paint the trim and doors in White Dove (OC-17), which provided a soft white look rather than that stark white color.

What I see on a bright, sunny day with the SW sunlight exposure is a soft off-white wall color with a hint of yellow for Navajo White and white with a tiny wink of gray for White Dove. But, under 2700K LED artificial light at night, Navajo White was too buttery for my taste (I could see this clearly in a photo of the room). I ended up going with a brighter 3000K LED bulb to tone down the appearance of the color. White Dove, on the other hand, revealed its soft yellow undertones under artificial light with no gray to be seen anywhere.

So, I agree with The Paint People that Navajo White is definitely not the off-white paint color to put on your trim and doors -- unless a shade of yellow color is what you've intended for those areas.

Wish we had watched your videos before we painted our trim. We went with Chantilly Lace on the trim and Simply White on the wall. We think the house is too white and the difference between the two isn't enough. Wanted to repaint the trim in Simply White but that's too expensive so now we are looking for a new wall color to go with Chantilly Lace. What would you recommend? The other colors we have in the house are Purbeck Stone from F&B on the kitchen cabinets and Studio Green from F&B on the kitchen island.

I used some 792 01 on a customer's house a few years back, it is now my go to trim color. BTW it's great with October Mist.

I’m in a basement with only north facing windows, so I chose Navaho White for walls with pure white trim. The Navaho white feels warm p, easy to decorate, and is still very light. I’ve had it in other homes and it’s a go-to for me.

I used Benji's 'Distant Gray' for my trim and it's way too bright-white and the contrast is a bit abrasive. (Each room colors being California Blue Bedroom, Scuba Green Dining room and Snowfall White bathroom with a scuba green accent wall because I loved that color so much as it's the closest I could find to a Tiffany Blue). I'm not sure what trim color would tone everything down and add a little bit of warmth to these cool blues/greens.

Could you do this for Sherwin Williams, too, please? Also, is there a "standard" trim color used on pre-painted base boards? I was having a doozy of a time color matching them, so I kind of gave up and painted both the replaced and remaining base boards in the space SW Extra White.

Listen to James about Aspen White. I have a very similar color as the exterior trim on my house. I HATE IT! It looked beige on the little sample card, and I did not do a large sample (Hello, Mighty Boards). In the bright sunlight, it looks smushed-caterpillar green. Hideous. Although the painting was just done a few months ago, I am definitely going to spend the money to get a new color.

My entire house color is paper white and was going to take your advice on painting the trim color the same as the walls. If doing is paper white still a problem?
